Hossack was born in Steinbach, Manitoba Canada. When she was a kid, she grew up and went to school within Killarney Manitoba. She was as well involved in musical theater productions. She was originally a pianist when she began the Brandon University studies. Her focus changed to singing. After graduation, she stated she only was interested in acting but was not interested in dramatics. After graduating from Brandon her studies were at the Banff School of Fine Arts. Following her graduation from college, Hossack performed on the stage of the Muskoka Festival in Ontario as and performing on the Rainbow Stage on the stage in Winnipeg. Hossack played the role of Mrs. Oliver in the TV show Reaper. Deanna Campbell played her mother Mary Winchester as well as the maternal grandmother of Sam Winchester & Dean Winchester.
