Anamaria Marinca, a Romanian-born actress. Her screen debut came through her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. French, German English fluently. Her father, a theatre professor in one of the top Romanian theater schools, also an instructor in theatre. At the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors, she won the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008 she was named the 'European Shooting Star' European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 semaines si 2 days (4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days) by Cristian Mungiu, which received the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two additional awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). Also, she was on The Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she played Yasim anwar in the BBC Mini-Series The Last Enemy. Marinca appeared in her role in the Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's acclaimed Five Minutes of Heaven. Then, she played major roles in 2014's Fury in which she portrayed Irma the German aunt of Emma.
