Awkwafina
Awkwafina began as an American musician and rapper making sly songs that addressed questions of race and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Before expanding to Hollywood the singer could perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first music experience. She played the trumpet. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. In the school, she focused on women's studies and journalism. She was also a student of Mandarin for a while in Beijing. When she graduated, she started to focus on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also featured viral hit tracks like body positive Queef and winking tour of her home NYC Bitche$1. The latter track connected directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Her resume contained both an the musician and author. The singer was seeking for a new career path in acting. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors and Storks. The actress made headlines in 2018 with a few high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
